Prior to the third week, Baby A's waking moments were spent drinking or crying. There wasn't much that we could do with her nor sustained her attention. Here is what we did to sustain her interests and stimulate her senses and this was what worked for us!
Sometimes, all our babies need is us. The products that are offered in the market now doesn't really seem to interest our 1 month old babies. What they really want is human interaction, looking at our faces, being with us.
Peek-a-Boo/ Making Funny Faces
To stimulate Baby A's social and visual development, my dad played peek-a-boo with Annabelle one morning and she begun smiling at him. So, we made funny faces at her during her quiet alert moments and we even caught her mimicking us sticking out our tongues.

Crib Mobile
One of Baby A's toys that could really sustain her attention from a very young age was the Tiny Love crib mobile that my sister gifted her. Apparently, this promotes spatial awareness and eye-hand co-ordination. True enough, each time, Baby A meets her "friends", she would be flinging her hands in the air trying to reach out for them! Moreover, her "Friends" are colourful enough for visual stimulation.

Tummy Time
One of our recent breakthrough was seen during Baby A's tummy time. Previously she struggled hard in lifting her head when we called out to her while putting her on her tummy. However, last night, she was able to lift her head at ease and even turned side to side when we called out for her.
Be a tour guide
Because Baby A is a very kinesthetic baby (I say that because she likes movements alot), I take her around the house and explain to her the things we are doing, and describe to her what each part of the house is like. Baby A seems to like going up and down the stairs alot. (tough on my legs!). This supposedly helps to build her curiousity, stimulate her visual senses. At about 5.5 weeks old, I begun venturing out of our house and explored the neighbourhood, take her to shopping malls. We met friends and their babies. My friend actually allowed her baby to smell the food we were eating and tell him what it was. I thought that was great for the stimulation of the sense of smell!
