Night 1 with Sleep Training (8 Weeks Old)
We started a night time routine for Baby A where she takes a bath, reads a story book, and then the darkening of the room.

Sleep Training
Baby A is now week 8 and according to research, her biological rhythm should be kicking in. I reckon this be a good time to sleep train Baby A.

Through Her Eyes
"Seek the wisdom of the ages, but look at the world through the eyes of a child."
~ Ron WildI found one way that helped me to understand Annabelle's needs. And, I felt, this, above all was my secret to a happy and contented baby. I never found this out until I was unable to fall asleep one night...

Baby A's Non Human Friends
The experts suggested introducing a toy/pillow to our child from young so that it could be used as a comfort item in time to come. In the chinese terms, we call it a "chou chou" I don't insist that Baby A uses 1 toy only but she can choose whichever that she wants as her comfort toy. Children always talk about freedom of choice these days, no?
Her choices ....

Lap Time Activities with Baby A
Baby A has been very engaged with her toys in the crib for a while now. I thought of introducing some lap time activities with her for some variation. Some of the activities can even help to engage the leg muscles!
Here's some of the laptime activities that engaged Baby A:

What is the real work here?
Just the other day, somebody commented "Wah, very shiok ah, got 4 months of maternity leave and doing nothing.
I just want to share that the life of a stay at home mum is not all that wonderful. To add on to the stress, a first time mom, or a mom with 2 or 3 kids to care for. I think it is far from 'shiok'
I thought it would be good to write about my life during maternity. This post also doubles up as A's routine in week 7.
Here is my post on one day in the life of a pseudo stay at home mom.

Activities with Baby A
Before Baby A came along, my husband and I bought an array of toys that she could have. Many of them are now sitting at a lonely corner.
Prior to the third week, Baby A's waking moments were spent drinking or crying. There wasn't much that we could do with her nor sustained her attention. Here is what we did to sustain her interests and stimulate her senses and this was what worked for us!
